ACTIVE CASES CONTINUE TO DECLINE, NOW BELOW 4.5 LAKHS

India’s fight against Covid-19 has been long and eventful. Observation and promotion of Prime Minister’s COVID Appropriate Behavior by different population groups has brought down the rate of spread of the virus in India while other countries have seen a spike in daily numbers.

The active caseload of India has shrunk considerably and presently is below 4.5 lakhs. At present India’s active caseload stands at 4,35,603 which is just 4.60% of  Total Positive Cases. The recovery rate has seen a boost. As recoveries continue to outnumber new cases, total recovered cases stand at 88,89,585 and the Recovery Rate has improved to 93.94%.
The gap between active cases and recoveries keeps widening and presently stands at 84,53,982 with a considerable decline in mortality rate as more number of people are responding to medication and are recovering quickly. In last 24 hours there has been a net decline of 11,349 cases in the total active cases .
While some States (Kerala, Delhi, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh etc) have witnessed a decline in the active caseload in the past 24 hours, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Assam and Goa have reported an addition to their caseload. In last 24 hours, 31,118 new cases were added to the national tally and 41,985 cases have recovered.
76.82% of the new recovered cases in the past 24 hours are from 10 States/UTs. The state with highest number of recoveries is Kerala with 6,055 single day recoveries followed by Delhi with 5,824 new recoveries.
However new confirmed cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in the country and 77.79% of these new cases are concentrated in ten States/UT. Maharashtra is leading the number of new active cases with 3,837 cases followed by Delhi with 3,726 cases and Kerala with 3,382 new cases.
India’s case Fatality Rate has reduced significantly over months. 81.12% case fatalities have been reported in 10 States and UTs in the past 24 hours and 482 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours. Delhi tops the chart with 108 deaths followed by Maharashtra and West Bengal with 80 and 48 new deaths, respectively.
