India reports lowest New Cases per million population in the world

 

The active caseload of India has shrunk considerably and presently is below 4.03 lakhs. At present India’s active caseload is just 4.18% of Total Positive Cases. This is the lowest after 138 days and the recovery rate has also seen a boost. Observance of Prime Minister’s Jan Andolan is the reason for decrease in the number of active cases in India.

 

In the last seven days, new cases per million population in India stands at 186. It is one of the lowest in the world. The daily registered deaths per million population during the past week when compared globally demonstrate that India has one of the lowest at 3 deaths/million population. Continuing with the trend of the last nine days, India has reported more daily recoveries than the daily new cases during the past 24 hours.

The gap between active cases and recoveries keeps widening and presently stands at 87 lakh (86,97,544) with a considerable decline in mortality rate as more number of people are responding to medication and are recovering quickly. As recoveries continue to outnumber new cases, total recovered cases stand at 91 lakh (91,00,792) and the Recovery Rate has improved to 94.37% 

76.6% of the new recovered cases in the past 24 hours are from 10 States/UTs. The state with highest number of recoveries is Maharashtra with 5,834 single day recoveries followed by Kerala with 5,820 new recoveries and Delhi with 4,916 recoveries.

However new confirmed cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in the country and 75.70% of these new cases are concentrated in ten States/UT. Kerala is leading the number of new active cases with 5,848 cases followed by Maharashtra with 4,922 cases and Delhi registered 3,419 new cases.

India’s case Fatality Rate has reduced significantly over months. 79.05% case fatalities have been reported in 10 States and UTs in the past 24 hours and 482 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours. Maharashtra tops the chart with 95 deaths followed by Delhi and West Bengal with 77 and 49 new deaths, respectively.
