India records 38 Covid deaths in 24 hours, experts feel situation will improve now

The Covid situation in India seems to be improving in the last few weeks and the medical experts indicated that the situation may well be on its way to normalization. The Union Health Ministry is closely monitoring the Covid situation in the country. As per the latest figures released by the ministry a total of 10,542 new cases of Covid were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country. With this, India's Active caseload currently stands at 63,562 8,175 with a total of recoveries reported in the last 24 hours. India recorded 38 Covid deaths in the last 24 hours. 

The daily positivity rate has come down a bit to 4.39% with a total of 2,40,014 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. As per the Government figures as of now under Nationwide Vaccination Drive 220.66 cr total vaccine doses have been given including 95.21 cr Second Dose and 22.87 cr Precaution Doses. 

In the last 24 hours only 487 doses have been administered. Recovery Rate is currently at 98.67%. The Government has advised caution and has asked the citizens to follow Covid protocols. As of now the Government has placed 

Despite the surge, sources close to the government told PTI that the new Covid cases likely to reduce in another fortnight,, indicating that Covid, in India, is moving towards the endemic stage. However, Union Health Minitry advised that amid this surge being attributed to a new variant, it is extremely important to follow all precautionary measures, especially since the latest variants XBB 1.5 and XBB 1.16 are showing signs of ‘immune evasion’.
