Recoveries cross 93 lakh mark and active Covid-19 cases remain under 4 lakhs

The active caseload of India has shrunk considerably and presently stands at 3,56,546. At present India’s active caseload is just 3.62% of Total Positive Cases and number of recoveries have seen a boost. Observance of Prime Minister’s Jan Andolan is the reason for decrease in the number of active cases in India.

In the past 24 hours, while 30,254 persons in were found to be COVID positive in the country, 33,136 new recoveries were registered during the same period. This has led to a net decline of 3,273 cases from the total Active Caseload in the last 24 hours.

In the last seven days, India reported one of the lowest cases per million population in the world (158) which is much lower than many other countries of the Western Hemisphere.

The gap between active cases and recoveries keeps widening and presently stands at 90 lakhs (90,00,918) with a considerable decline in mortality rate as more number of people are responding to medication and are recovering quickly. As recoveries continue to outnumber new cases, total recovered cases stand at 93,57,464 and the Recovery Rate has improved to 94.93%.

75.23% of the new recovered cases in the past 24 hours are from 10 States/UTs. The state with highest number of recoveries is Kerala with 5,268 single day recoveries followed by Maharashtra with 3,949 new recoveries and Delhi with 3,191 recoveries.

However new confirmed cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in the country and 75.71% of these new cases are concentrated in ten States/UT. Kerala is leading the number of new active cases with 5,949 cases followed by Maharashtra with 4,259 cases and West Bengal registered 2,710 new cases. 

India’s case Fatality Rate has reduced significantly over months. 77.78% case fatalities have been reported in 10 States and UTs in the past 24 hours and 391 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours. 79.28% of new fatalities are from Maharashtra and it tops the chart with 80 deaths followed by Delhi and West Bengal with 47 and 44 new deaths, respectively. India recorded one of the lowest new case fatalities per million population in the last 7 days (2) when compared globally.
