Recoveries cross 98 lakh mark and less than 16,500 daily New Cases recorded

India’s fight against Covid19 has been long and eventful. The country has achieved several significant milestones in its fight against COVID with a sustained, pro-active and calibrated strategy. Currently India’s Recovery Rate is one of the highest in the world for countries with high caseload. As recoveries continue to outnumber new Covid 19 cases, total recovered cases have crossed 98 lakhs (98,07,569).

 

The gap between active cases and recoveries keeps widening and India’s cumulative recoveries are inching closer to 1 Crore. There is a considerable decline in mortality rate as more number of people are responding to medication and are recovering quickly. The active caseload of the country has shrunk considerably and presently stands at 2,68,581 . At present India’s active caseload is just 2.63% of Total Positive Cases and number of recoveries have seen a boost. 24,900 patients have recovered and discharged in the last 24 hours.

77.66% of the new recovered cases in the past 24 hours are from 10 States/UTs. The state with highest number of recoveries is Maharashtra with 4,501 single day recoveries followed by Kerala with 4,172 new recoveries and Chhattisgarh with 1,901 recoveries.

However new confirmed cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in the country and 78.16% of these new cases are concentrated in ten States/UT. Kerala is leading the number of new active cases with 3,047 cases followed by Maharashtra with 2,498 and Chhattisgarh with 1,188 new cases.

India’s case Fatality Rate has reduced significantly over months. 77.38% case fatalities have been reported in 10 States and UTs in the past 24 hours and 252 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours. Maharashtra tops the chart with 50 new deaths followed by West Bengal and Chhattisgarh with 27 and 26 new deaths, respectively.
