SaveLIFE Foundation provides crucial life-saving support to 7 key COVID hit States across the Country

SaveLIFE Foundation (SLF), traditionally recognised as a leader in road safety and emergency medical care, is currently assisting seven States across the country by helping them ramp up their COVID-care capacity.

The organization, with support from its partners and donors, has scaled up its COVID response to reach over 27 districts in 7 heavily impacted states including Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Goa, and Himachal Pradesh.

In the last two months, the foundation has deployed more than 2000 Type D oxygen cylinders with a total oxygen capacity of 95 Metric Tons across hospitals and Covid care facilities in Delhi, Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh. Some of the beneficiary hospitals in Delhi include Indira Gandhi Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Janakpuri Super Specialty Hospital, Satyawadi Raja Harish Chander Hospital, CWG Field Hospital and Acharya Shri Bhikshu Hospital in Delhi.

Additionally, 991 oxygen concentrators have been provided to hospitals and COVID Care Centres across Delhi and some of the most stressed rural belts of Uttar Pradesh and Goa. Delhi, being a recipient of critical patients from across North India, also needed to urgently ramp up its critical care capacity. For the same, the foundation has donated 100 invasive ventilators and 109 ICU 5-Para Monitors for deployment at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital ancillary ICU facility in Delhi.

Among other efforts, SaveLIFE Foundation along with other partners has co-funded the procurement of three 40 ft Cryogenic Oxygen Tanks with O2 storage capacity of 171 MT.

PiyushTewari, Founder and CEO, SaveLIFE Foundation said, “SLF is committed to supporting the public health system to deal with the ongoing and future waves of COVID-19. Our core philosophy of system strengthening and our traditional expertise in emergency response, data analytics and procurement directly intersected with the needs imposed by the pandemic. The rapid support from our donors and seamless facilitation by our Government partners ensured a quick response from our end despite the ongoing challenges, including several employees of SLF down with COVID during the second wave”.

SLF has continued to oversee the ambulance response in Delhi since the last wave of the pandemic. SLF analyses around 68,000 data points every day on call volumes, ambulance response times, and the data from ambulance providers to understand response patterns. SaveLIFE Foundation has also been monitoring the oxygen status of ambulances and helped in increasing the percentage of oxygen equipped ambulances from 50% to 95%.

In order to brace for any future waves of the dreaded disease, SLF is working to continue assisting States in building their Oxygen and critical-care capacity - in particular paediatric intensive care, going forward.
